Featuring my favourite primer, the Elizavecca Skin Liar Primer!
I’m not a fan of silicone primers. They feel too slippery on my skin and they’re usually mattifying; hence, the texture doesn’t complement my skin type (combination-dehydrated).
Its key ingredient are:
- Sea cucumber extract – protects and improves elasticity of the skin.
- Phytosqualane – has strong moisturizing properties for that youthful glow.
- Illicium verum fruit extract – revitalizes skin and soothes irritations.
It’s nice, light, and hydrating rather than dry and mattifying. It feels more like a moisturizer than your traditional primer. This helps smooth out my dry patches and it evens out skin texture and pores; albeit, not as well as a silicone primer can. I don’t mind, though.

The tone comes out a little peachy, but it blends out into almost nothing. It does give the skin a brightening effect, though.
It has a faint, refreshing, lightly floral scent that doesn’t linger. (Althea commented that it was supposed to be a peach scent, though.)
This is best for: mildly textured skin that needs smoothing, brightening, and hydration.
What I love:
- Hydrating
- Non-greasy, non-sticky
- Brightening
- A little goes a long way
- Creates a smooth and even canvas for makeup
- Does not clog my pores
What I don’t love:
- Not great for oil control
- Not widely available
Overall thoughts:
I love this primer! I don’t use it every time I wear makeup, but it’s great for refining and correcting skin texture. I’m not sure if I would repurchase, though—considering that I rarely use primers in general.
