While most people have special gifts and talents that they were born with and developed skills they’ve acquired — things that they’re great at, some of us are left with a handful of things that we can do, and well…we’re stuck with that. We just can.
Now, now, before anyone sets me on fire, the misleading title was intentional. (Sorry for the clickbait.) Just a fair warning, this is a rant post up ahead of you; so, if that’s not your thing, this may displease you.
Lately, I have been seeing a lot of new “small” bloggers and YouTubers. Don’t get me wrong, technically speaking, I also categorize as a “small” blogger, considering that my follower/reader base is actually very small. So, there’s nothing wrong with being “small” — everybody starts somewhere; however, not everybody seems to understand that. Continue reading “Everything Wrong With “Small” Bloggers/YouTubers”
Every once in a while, you find yourself lemming for some much raved about expensive product. However, the price puts you off from buying it. “Do I really need to spend one thousand pesos on a lipstick? Do I really need it?” And we all know that nothing haunts you more than something you didn’t buy! So, how can you justify your spend? Here’s how: Continue reading “Maximize Your Splurge: How to get the best value for money on expensive products.”
(This may be an out-of-place post amongst my entries about makeup and beauty. “Wayward Woes” is my vent-out series; some food for thought, maybe. Simply put, posts for thinking out loud and expressing my musings.)
Have you ever had that moment in your life where you just get so engrossed with trying to be somebody that you forget who you are? Have you ever had that moment where you just had to sit down, take a deep breath, and reevaluate your life? I would not be surprised if you have.
Most of us have gone through the pressure of having to justify ourselves and who we are. Society expects us to be like this and to act like that to meet a certain set of standards. Being “unconventional” is often perceived as a negative thing. Often, we are brainwashed into thinking that if we are different, there must be something wrong with us.
Welcome to my official website! I am Rolande Karla, and this is my new beauty, art, and lifestyle blog. This will be my media portal for sharing my thoughts on the latest beauty and fashion trends and the art of makeup.
I will be posting product reviews, tutorials, feature posts, and more. I will also include my Makeup Portfolio which will contain shots of my own work on myself and on clients (makeovers, before and after shots). As an artist, it is also important for me to include my Art Portfolio here, where I will share my artworks (traditional, digital, and paintings).
For the past few years, I have been working on this website — curating drafts, collecting useful photographs, and posting in my previous blog site. I started building my social media presence in 2015 through “microblogging” on Instagram.
Now that I have RolandeKarla.com up and running, let’s get down to business!
